Just found this application, and loving the point to point option, but, the maps of rural zones of Argentina are too incomplete, so when I try to map a trip, the application fails to find the route Is there any way to upload my own map files? There is a website http://www.proyectomapear.com.ar/ Who has the more complete and free Argentinean maps available. Can I use this data files? |

No, unfortunately we don't support custom map datasets. I went to the web site you mentioned. It looks like I have to register to download or view the maps? Also, I don't know very much Spanish so it's difficult for me to browse the site.
Can you give us a more detailed example of an incomplete rural area? What latitude/longitude are you looking at and what map type? The maps on the web site are the same maps you'll find on http://maps.google.com
We appreciate your interest and feedback, especially from a foreign country. Be sure to check out the map editor tutorial videos if you haven't already. If you want to get back to us with a little more information, I'll take another look. |

Yes, you have to register, but it's free http://proyectomapear.com.ar/modules.php?name=Your_Account&op=new_user It installs the data files to use with Mapsource Here's the direct url to download the installer http://proyectomapear.com.ar/modules.php?name=Downloads&d_op=getit&lid=181
Search for "Mercedes, buenos aires"and go to north a little -34.6216, -59.3974 You will see a street called Cnel. Dorrego, crossing road #41 the follow street mode wont follow you anymore Here's a screen capture with the missing road marked in red http://aburone.com.ar/mercedes.jpg There is a lot if missing roads, basically only the main roads are present... You will see a lot of fields, around them, nearly always there is an unpaved road

| Cool. Thanks for all the information. We do also have access to maps provided by Microsoft. Most of the time the Microsoft maps have all the same information as the Google maps, but sometime they are different. I'll try and take a look at those in your area. I'll also see if I can register and navigate my way through that web site to download the maps you suggest. |
