media not downloading, incorrect photos displayed

| When I record a trip with attached media files they do not download to Trimble Outdoors (TO). When I open the file in TO, it indicates media is available but nothing appears. I have the Android HTC Eris phone. The settings in TO are to upload automatically after finishing a trip. I have tried several times with no luck either time. One file had multiple media attached, the other file had one photo attached, still no transfer. When I look at the trip in the device and tap the Guide Trip tab to see the attached media and points, the photos are not correct, video is correct but does not download to TO. TO is displaying a different image that is located on the device. TO does not seem to know what photo to show and defaults to the same photo each time now matter how many photos I have associated with a trip. |

Hi I have the Sprint HTC Hero and I can't get photos to display. I took a bike trip today and recorded 3 media files (Photos) It seems to know there are 3 photos but it will not display any of them> I checked my phone and the photos are on the phone -- just seems like TO doesn't know how to find them or display them
Thanks

Dredneck,
Thats consistent with what we are seeing on our server. It's looks like we ask your phone to take a picture, but then it does and we can't access it after it's taken. This is probably a bug in our application, but it appears to only happen on a select few handset models. We will look into fixing it for the next version.
BTW: do you know what version of the Android OS your device is running?
Thanks. |

| Good news on this; we have a fix for the Hero and believe the same fix will also work on the Eris. We're putting it into QA to test and hope to release an updated version of the software within the next couple days. Thanks for pointing this out. |

| Yeah, this fix works great on the HTC Hero, and it appears that it would have impacted all 1.5 devices. We should have this fix out in the market place tomorrow, but it might be Monday worst case. Thanks again for reporting the issue! |

The new version is a huge improvement, Thank you.
The images are now correctly displayed on the HTC Eris and they donwlooad properly to My Account for viewing. Video however is still missing. It is viewable on the device but the video did not download to My Account. Also, the trip the downloaded shows only one video attached, but there are actually two. I paused TO for ten minutes or so and then resumed the trip. I added a video after resuming and downloaded the trip when it ended. Only one video appears attached on the downloaded file. All photos and video are correctly displayed on the device now.
Thanks again, Bill |

Thanks for the information, Bill. We may have a couple more things to workout, but your second video appears to have at least uploaded. Unfortunately, it was not assigned a latitude/longitude and therefore is not placed on the map. On the ViewTrip page, we only show media that's on the map. However, if you choose to edit your trip map, you'll see all of your pictures and videos in the tree view.
Do you recall if you had a Gps fix when taking the second video? |

Bill:
Did it give you an error when uploading when you had a video on the trip?
There are currently three issues that users have been running into with video: 1. There is a file size limit of 10MB, which sometimes people go over 2. Some users report timeouts during video upload 3. Some users complain that they phone gives an OutOfMemory error while uploading a trip with a large video.
If any of those happened to you, let me know. Otherwise, we may have another issue to try to solve. Let us know, and we'll take a look.

Bob, the link to the video appears to have downloaded, but the video itself does not play when selected. I did not receive any errors. The files are small, 1.5 and 3.5 MB. They play correctly on the device, just no playback on the PC thru My Account trips.
Hope that helps, Bill |
