I suppose I could just walk outside and test for myself, but I'll ask here anyways for anyone who's interested...Do the Blackberry Trimble applications work holstered? Thanks,

;-) I have noticed that it's really good on battery life to holster it, but it causes the GPS to be much worse. I have a thin mesh holder that I use... it seems to allow the GPS to work a lot better than the holster. I wonder if it has something to do the magnet. |

Ah, hopefully it more or less works holstered, I like to keep it in the otterbox when I'm on the beat trail . It didn't seem to work too bad in a test walk around the block, but didn't really check for accuracy. Will try it holstered normally, and will also try putting it in the holster upside-down so it doesn't go into "holstered" state. If all else fails, I'll be yanking the magnet out! |

Did a ride holstered and was apparently in the middle of a river, I suppose the magnet might have an affect. I managed to pick out the magnet with a small knife (without stabbing myself). It's just a small disk shaped magnet a few mils thick. Will confirm whether the inaccuracies were caused by rhe magnet or the coverage of the Otterbox holster itself. My camelpack has a latch that connects across my chest, I can strap the otterbox on there now and use it as a ride cam without my phone going into standby. |
