It will not find the GPS and screens that have an "options" buttton. (The Blackberry "menu" button) dont work. Anyone have any insights? [Reply][Quote]

The menu did show up however as I scrolled down it disappeared. I did find that if I selected options the menu, albeit invisible, was there and I was able to select a menu choice, just didnt know what I was selecting until it popped up. Obviously not acceptable and I hope there is a work around. I am wondering if there is interference from another program running on the BB? Other than that it works and uploads to the web just fine. We also ran into the same issue when we got that device in house and tested it. We haven't yet identified the cause of the problem on that device. I would like to blame BlackBerry since it works on all of their other devices, but that wouldn't be totally fair without identifying the cause. One way or another I'm sure we will be able to get it to work when we have a little bit of time to focus on that device. BTW: this bug impacts all of our apps, not just AllSport. Please post on this thread if you have the problem, and check the "Notify by e-mail when reply posted" check box. Just an FYI, my Blackberry is running the Blackberry software version v4.6.1.128 (platform 3.0.0.62) This is not the original operating system that shipped with that device, but an upgrade that Nextel recommend installing. Posted: 15 Jul 09 7:04 PM I have recently installed the AllSport on my 8350i - and have experieced the same problem decribed here. However, I have discovered a work-around that allows me to see and select from the Options menu. It works like this: 1) Started a trip (ex, Walking) 2) Press the Options key (Blackberry key)- you will not see anything happen. 3) Press the Green 'Phone' key - the phone log will appear 4) Press the 'Escape' key (right of the track ball)- this will take you back to AllSportGPS and the Options menu will appear 5) Use track ball to select the function. NOTE: as you move the track ball down the menu, each menu item will become transparent so select carfully. I have found this is the only way to access the menu - BUT IT DOES WORK! I have also noticed the 'negitive' elevation, but when uploaded to the website it is corrected. ALL OTHER FUNCTIONS SEEM TO WORK CORRECTLY. I would be great if this seemingly simple problem could be corrected with an update. UPDATE: Installing a new Theme WORKED! The Options Key problem is resolved!!! My Phone info: BlackBerry 8350i smartphone (iDEN, WiFi) v4.6.1.204 (Platform 3.0.0.73) [Reply][Quote]

It looks like the only way to get this to work will take a lot of work. I have heard (though I haven't seen this myself) that if you install a new theme, the menu in java apps will show up correctly. It's worth a try. I suspect that we will have an update for you on this issue around 8/15/2009. If I don't post something by them, hassle me again and I'll let you know where we are at. We submitted Geocache Navigator and Trimble Outdoors to both Handmark and BlackBerry App World a few weeks ago. I don't think that they have launched yet though. If you are waiting for AllSport GPS, that one will be a little while longer. We decided to wait until we launched the next version of AllSport before we supported the Menu fix for the 8350i. If anyone wants to beta test a version of AllSport GPS forthe 8350i, let me know and I can send you a version to test out, but it will be a little while longer before we launch that one. Thanks.
