This seems to be blackberry related. We are able to install on i-phones without problems but get the message outlined each time we try on our blackberrys. Both i-phone and blackberry are on o2 in the UK

Thanks for the feedback, Would you be willing to run some tests for me on your blackberry? I have a network diagnostic application that I would like to have you try. It will tell me what your carrier allows and doesn't allow for networking on your blackberry.

Let me know and I'll contact you via email to provide you a build and instructions.

Thanks.
Bob

Thanks for the results on this. It looks like the problem is occurring because direct TCP connections are not enabled by your carrier, or possibly your BES administrator if your device is connected to your corporate email.

It looks like this would work if we routed traffic through a RIM server called the "BIS-B" server in Canada, or route the traffic through your carrier's WAP2 gateway.

We will look into adding logic to detect your network settings the first time you launch the application and then default the networking with the appropriate settings.

I should have something for you to test before we launch it so that I can make sure that it fixes the issues on your carrier. I'll post back here when we have something for you.

Thanks for running that test, it really helped.

If it has a bearing on things we don't use the BES, just the blackberry internet service. Thanks, look forward to testing any solution.

Would it be possible to get hold of the older version, which did work on the free trial until the snag with the new version is sorted? Not sure of the version number but it was the one with the blue running man logo. We have paid Blackberry apps for the new version.

The version that we still have on our free trial page is 2.6.4. You can point your BlackBerry browser directly to here. You should be able to download and install it, the register/activate it with the same phone number you used previously. Check out your Phone Applications page to see. By using the same phone number, it will pick up the fact that you bought it and never expire.

That should work. Let us know if you have any difficulties.

Oh, wait, what model BlackBerry do you have?

Guys,

If you have purchased through app world, you can download a new version here, and use the same unlock code provided at app world. This version should fix your issue.

Please let me know if it does or doesn't fix it for you.

Go to the tiny Url using your BlackBerry web browsesr. Click on the "AllSport GPS for BlackBerry App World/" directory link, then depending on what BlackBerry model you have, choose one of the three directories. "High Resolution" is for models like the 8900, 9000, and 9630 (Tour). "Standard Resolution" is for all 8xxx series, like the 8830 or 8310. Finally, "Touch-Storm" is for the Storm1 and Storm2. Inside one of those folders you will find multiple files. Click on the "gspapp.jad" file. Your BlackBerry will download it and should automatically prompt you to install.

Hope that helps. Let us know if there is anything else.

Guys,

Did this fix it for you?

We have now released this update to app world, so if you haven't tried it you can download from app world and try again.

We were previously relying on the default networking to work, but we have released an update that forces the networking to go through a BlackBerry server that should allow this to work for many more users now.

Let me know if this update works for you.

Thanks!

===================
If your GPS doesn't work, it's possible that we have other problems with your blackberry model on Vodafone Spain.

What is your phone model?
How long did you wait for GPS?
Were you outside?
do other apps hat use GPS work?

Gracias,
Bob
