The 4 of us left the top parking lot, near the towers, on South Mountain and headed down the road for a short distance before reaching National trail. We took National down trough Buena Vista all the way down to Mormon. Riding down this trail with just a headlamp is really fun! There are a few sections that are pretty hairy to go through with all the rocks creating shadows from the headlamp, it can be difficult to see what's on the other side. By the time we got to Mormon trail the lights were no longer needed, the sun was starting to shed light on us. Near the bottom of Mormon trail we connected into Javalina trail and took that all the way down to the 46th street parking lot, where Andy left his truck for the ride back up. Great morning to ride, it wasn't as cold as I though it would be and all of us made it down with no issues. I can not think of a better way to start off a workday!
TO TRAILHEAD: We left from the parking lot near the TV towers. Take Central South into the park and follow signs for TV Towers.
