This ride started at Burnt Timber road along Taylor Creek. It follows Taylor Creek road for 5.5 miles as it climbs up to Lone Tree Pass Trail is single track. Crosses creek many times and some of the bridges have lost boards and are in poor repair at last ride in Dec 2009. One of the bridges has completely collapsed. Creek is usually crossable on foot in that area. Climb up to Lone Tree Pass is steep in parts but is mostly rideable.
Second part of the ride is from Lone Tree pass to Sam Brown Campground. This part of Taylor Creek Trail is dubbed by locals as the Jedi Trail. It is about 4 miles of single track through forrest with fast swooping turns through the trees. The end of this mapped track was on the paved
BLM road (Taylor Creek Road) up to Lone Tree Pass and then back down to the start of the ride.
There are many other great single track trails in this area and hope to map them when the weather warms up soon.
TO TRAILHEAD: from I-5 take exit 62 to Merlin galice. Follow highway about 14 miles to the Taylor Creek road. Turn Left on Talyor Creek Road and follow it 5.5 miles to a bridge that goes over Taylor Creek marked as Burnt Timber Road. Just over the bridge trail starts.
