This hike is well worth your time. There are two basic trails. One is a fire road style and the other is a more advanced, hands-on trail.

Cascade Falls is one of the most beautiful waterfalls (69’) in Virginia and possibly on the entire East Coast. Little Stony Creek cascades over a vertical cliff in several different streams.

  • ~ 3.5 miles in length, out and back hike
  • Easy to moderate difficulty
  • There is a day-use fee of $3 (cash only)
  • Map kiosk at trail head (very straight forward hike)
Directions to Trail Head
  • Follow 460W for approximately 25 miles to town of Pembroke
  • Turn right onto Cascade Drive (Marathon gas station & Tangent Outfitters located on this corner)
  • Road ends at Cascades parking area (~3 miles)
Add On
  • After your hike cool off with a short canoe trip on the New River. Visit Tangent Outfitters (540.626.4567) when leaving Cascades for details
  • Ask the folks at Tangent Outfitters for directions to The Palisades Restaurant (540.626.2828) for some great food and drinks
