An ancient extinct volcano, whose summit resembles a horn/spire, that it is hit by lightning so often that it is reffered to as the Lightning Rod of the Cascades. DIRECTIONS: From Eugene, take SR-58 East for 87 miles. Take US-97 South for 18 miles. Then SR-138 West. Look for Mt. Thielsen Trailhead signs and the parking area on the right.
