This trip is a favorite of club riders here in Northern Michigan. Starting in downtown Traverse City, the route very quickly finds it way onto some of the most beautiful roads anywhere.  Lake Michigan is constantly present.  Taking the route it sits firmly on your right side for most of the ride.  First the east arm of Grand Traverse Bay, then once at the Lighthouse you see the expanse of Lake Michigan stretching northward, and on the way back it's the west arm of Grand Traverse Bay.  Gentle, easy riding, with occasional rolling hills.  We love this ride!
