A very easy 22 mile loop from downtown Traverse City east towards Elk Rapids following the extent of the TART Trail System Eastbound.

This was our first excursion on the TART trail this year. We could just make it by most of the usual snow piles remaining in the shady parts of the trail and on the bridges. A lot of debris on the trail and on the roads.

NOTICE: This route while mostly on the trail, also uses highly traffic laden roads. BE CAREFUL. It crosses M72 at a bad spot. Cars are moving fast and are not looking for you in several crossing areas.

This is another danger zone as the trail simply hugs the shoulder of the road with no curb, or other boundaries. Also includes a confusing Rail crossing.

Bunker Hill

Nasty intersection here. Pavement of TART ends about 20 meters from M-72 making it difficult to pick your way through and have any kind of acceleration ability left for crossing this dangerous road. This needs to be fixed soon!
