A beautiful ride often enjoyed by NYC riders looking to get a scenic trip without driving. The start and end point for this ride is the GWB bicycle ramp itself, though you can access this park from 9W as well, reversing the route.
To avoid a few cross-traffic turns this route will ride up to 9W first and enter at the north most part of the park, and end back at the bridge, but the ride can be done the other way around as well, and many people do this ride completely in the park, making it an out and back.
You can stop at the boathouse along the river at the lowest point on the ride for the bathroom and water fountains, there aren't many other amenities otherwise. (A hot dog truck that used to be parked outside the entrance to Alpine is gone after some renovation work.)
In the summer this is a mostly shady ride, some sections are rather recently repaved, although there are some ruts on the descents.
