TO TRAILHEAD: From Mount Shasta City, CA, take W Lake St. to Old Stage Rd. Turn L, then and bear R at fork onto W.A. Barr Rd. Cross dam @ Lake Siskiyou and follow paved road (now FR 26) for 15.7 mi. and park @ Gumboot Saddle, 2.5 mi. W of turn-off to Gumboot Lake and Gumboot Campground.
