Starting from the sleepy main street of Pullman, West Virginia, this easy-going half-century offers constant but mellow climbing on quiet, winding country roads. Even on the hottest of days, the long, sheltered valleys provide plenty of shade and cool breezes. Small hill country bergs (like Coxs Mills and Harrisville) are spaced at just the right intervals to stop for a snack or refill your bottles. The climbs (there are too many too count) are punchy but never unforgiving; this is a great training route for both steady efforts and variable intervals, and when autumn rolls in, the undulating terrain is sure to keep you warm as you soak in the surrounding foliage.
