From the town of Pecos, drive about 20 miles north on paved NM 63 to the summer home area at Cowles. In Cowles turn left, crossing the Pecos River, to the marked Winsor Creek Trailhead on FR 121. Drive 1.3 miles to the trailhead at the end of the road. Contrary to what maps show. Winsor creek is no longer a campground, it is only a trailhead.
