Knoxville, Tennessee Area - Big South Fork National River & Recreation Area. The Honey Creek Loop is probably the most beautiful, and strenuous hike in the area. This 5.5 mile trail will lead you through rhodedendron, and past many Indian rock shelters, sheer cliffs, overhangs, huge old hemlocks, stream crossings, class III and IV rapids on the South Fork River, and a magnificent river valley overlook. With adequate rain, falls with names like Moonshine, Honey Creek, Hideout, and Boulder House will manifest themselves. Scramble over, under, and between boulders, some the size of a house.
