This ride begins in Harbor Springs where there is plenty of parking. Or you can begin at Petoskey State Park and join the route from the bike path along MI-119. There are a couple of steep climbs (see points of interest), but most of the route is flat to moderately rolling. For a shorter route, see Tunnel of Trees and Michigan North Country.

Tunnel of Trees The Tunnel of Trees Heritage Route north of Harbor Springs, Michigan, along the Lake Michigan shore is a fourteen-mile stretch beginning about five miles northwest of Harbor Springs and ending at Cross Village. You'll see lots of cyclists.
