Experience an awesome view of the San Fransisco Bay Area from 2500ft above the bay. This 7.2 mile hike (RT) on the Ohlone Wilderness Trail climbs 2000ft in elevation and is an invigorating trek into the foothills of the East Bay. There are two main trailheads used to get to Mission Peak: Ohlone and Stanford Ave. The hike from Stanford Ave is a bit shorter but a more severe elevation climb. This hike covers the trek from the Ohlone trailhead. Trailhead: From HWY 680, take the Mission Blvd./Hwy. 238 exit (south) in Fremont. Go 1.1 miles & turn left on Anza-Pine Road into the Ohlone College campus. Park in lot's M, N, O or P. Purchase a parking permit at vending machine. The trailhead is located adjacent to the south side near the parking lots.

Choices

Follow trail to the left for a more gradual accent to the top or bear right for a more direct, but steeper and rockier trail. (I went to the right).
