A unique Grand Canyon rim to rim hike using the old Braight Angel trail. Start the hike at the North Kaibab trailhead and traverse the rim on the Ken Patrick trail for four miles until you hit the Old Briaght Angel trailhead. Some good route finding skills are required to follow the old trail in places. Be prepared to ford Bright Angel creek. This trip is 20 miles from the North Kaibab trailhead to Phantom Ranch so be sure your in shape. We stayed one day and two nights at Phantom Ranch in male dorms. It was great to sleep in a nice bed, have hot water for showers, and great meals. On Sunday we went fishing in the morning and them explored the scenic River trail. On Monday some of the group exited Bright Angel trail and six of us exited South Kaibab trail. South Kaibab is a great way to exit in the cooler months if you are in shape. It's 3 miles shorter but also steeper than the Bright Angel trail.
